Introduction
Accommodation in Israel is not cheap, but you don’t
have to pay hundreds of dollars for one night, you can stay in a hostel The hostels in Israel are great. In the last couple of years before the pandemic, good hostels cost around 20 dollars in the dorms and around 70-80
dollars for a private room, so let’s get started:
1.1
Allenby 2
This is a small, family-run hostel and in the interest of full disclosure, I should say that I decided to recommend this
place, after doing rigorous research and talking with the owners on Skype,
I immediately knew that I would recommend his place on the top, simply because,
the owner was so warm and friendly.
It’s a nice, quiet, homey hostel located behind the
central bus station, Jerusalem, so if you arrive in Jerusalem by bus late at
night or need to leave early in the morning and want a hostel close to the
station, this is a good option to consider. It’s very close to the light rail
so the Old City is just five stations away. Price per night, It is about 25$
in dorms and about 100$ for a private room.

Abraham
Hostel
The Abraham Hostel is probably the best-known in
Israel. It has been selected as one of the best large hostels in the world.
They brought new standards to the hostel world in Israel. It’s a great option
for a soft landing in Israel, so if you are traveling on your own or concerned
about traveling in Jerusalem, this is a great place to start. It has an
information center for travelers and it also organizes tours to different
places in Israel. The location is excellent – it’s on Jaffa Road right next to
the Advika light rail station. It’s a 15-minute walk from the Old City and five
minutes from the Mahane Yehuda Market.

The
Jerusalem Hostel.
The Jerusalem Hostel is located on Zion Square on
Jaffa Road. No hostel is more central than this: it’s just a 10-minute walk
from the Old City. The hostel is housed in a historical building and the
balcony on the second floor is where speakers stood at some of the most
important demonstrations in Israel, like the demonstration against the
Reparations Agreement between Israel and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Post
Hostel
The Post Hostel is new in Jerusalem and when you
walk in it feels more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. My best friend Ruby Bragança, from New York,
stayed in 3 and 4-star hotels and even hotels that call themselves boutique
hotels that don’t look as good as this hostel. The Post Hotel is everything one
can ask for, there are beautiful night lamps in the rooms, so if someone
arrives late at night he won’t wake everyone up. Each bed has its lamp and
electricity sockets. This hostel is next to the light rail’s town hall station
and it’s about 200 meters from the Old City
1.5 Stay Inn.
According to my research, this is the newest hostel
in Jerusalem. it looks great. It has already received very good reviews since
opening at the end of 2016. It’s located in the middle of the city, close to
the ‘Jaffa Center’ light rail station.
