Israeli-Palestinian Dispute |
Muslims all over the world should understand this question. Aside from humanitarian concerns, why should we care about the Israel-Palestine dispute? many, I dare say, most Muslims, around the world consider support for Palestine as some sort of religious duty. The Israeli-Palestinian dispute, yet, is a conflict between two nationalisms. It has nothing to do with Islam and Judaism.
Many ultra-Orthodox Jews I had a privilege to know
reject Zionism, and we should not forget that even Yasser Arafat a former PLO
leader appointed an ultra-Orthodox Jew to be his minister for Jewish affairs.
Hamas often only use religion in Gaza as a tool for other purposes. This
nationalist conflict between Israelis and Arabs is entangled in the complicated
history of the Middle East and it only demands a clear and neutral legal or
political solution. Both sides call with some right to justice for their
claims; the international world knows that both Palestinians and Israelis
committed tremendous injustices to each other. For my blog viewers, the
relevant concept is interest, not justice.
In calculating self-interests, by the looks of
things we have to take into account that during this recent conflict between
Hamas and IDF the majority of Arab states reacted: they condemned the Israeli
airstrikes, but did nothing. It has been a long time since anyone could claim
that the Palestinian issue was central to resolving the Middle East conflicts.
The focus of the conflict is now on Iran, not on its proxy Hamas.
In 2008 unwarranted rocket attacks launched by
Hamas from the Gaza Strip caused Israel IDE to respond not only with airstrikes
but also with its ground forces. The fighting was brutal and Amnesty
International estimated that around 1,400 Palestinians were killed.US Sectary
of State Mark Antony Blinken spoke of the restoration of aid to the
Palestinians. Yet, he took the side of Israeli PM Bibi Netanyahu and IDE and
condemned Hamas's unwarranted aggression against Israelis.
Arab countries are sick and tired of Hamas using
women and children of Palestine Gaza as protected shields. This fundamental
realignment of geopolitical priorities as expressed in the Abraham Accords of
2020, which, among other things, normalized relations between Israel and The United Arab Emirates, Israel, and Bahrain. Gaza is a sideline that cannot derail
these agreements. If that was the intention of Hamas and Iran, it was a cynical
and tragic waste of time that resulted in the loss of innocent lives. Iran and
its terror wing Hamas are certain that sooner or later the current truce
between Israel and Arab Countries will be broken and a new round of combat will
be repeated.
Pakistan shouldn't operate with an outdated understanding of the Middle East: drones and missiles will play a bigger role in the future of war. We must not allow our emotions to degrade the principle of self-defense to our satisfaction. By doing this we will consciously discard the number of Israeli victims. According to reports, 92% of the 4,000 rockets Hamas fired into Israeli cities were intercepted. That is a remarkable achievement. But 8% made it anyway. Since Iron Dome's introduction in 2011 and the current round of hostilities, it has become the cornerstone of the country’s national defense. As of May 12, of more than 1,000 rockets launched into Israel, more than 200 have been intercepted. This is how the integrated detection and eavesdropping system works. The system is powered by anti-missile batteries, each of which contains three main components. -Rockets and mortars attacked nearly 45 miles from the battery.
The Iron Dome Defense System is very mobile and can be moved anywhere they are needed. It functions very smoothly First, a radar unit detects an incoming missile and sends information about its speed and trajectory to the battery center. The missile will hit populated areas. In this case, a missile is fired from the launcher. Each launcher contains 20 interceptor missiles. Everyone receives constant line updates from headquarters and their internal radar. The goal is to keep it out of populated areas and cut damage to the soil.
According to an Israeli military spokesman, the Iron Dome has intercepted more than 2,400 missiles flying into
civilian areas. In 2012, before a November ceasefire, the Iron Dome shot down
421 rockets fired from Gaza towards Israeli cities that the United States
allocated hundreds of millions of dollars and funds to the system, as well as
two of its own Iron Dome batteries have bought and tested, and Israel has
expanded the defense system by installing missile batteries and the system in
the middle is an update to combat the threat from unmanned drones. We have to
admit that Iron Dome is an impressive defense missile system that lives up to
its reputation.
